The glam and the post-glam!

Had our staff Christmas Party last night which was a lot of fun. The theme was Hollywood style and you had to come as your favourite actor or glam or something related. So in true 'jas' style I came as something a bit different - a celebrity who had been at the Oscars the night before and had come straight from the post-Oscars afterparty and hadn't yet been home, complete with lipstick marks, a shirt that looked like I'd slept in it, wrongly buttoned shirt, a small bag of strange white powder and a rolled up note. I'm sure I'll probably get called into HR for that one, the fact that I was sniffing all night probably didn't help!

And the winner is...

Went to the DMA(Direct Marketing Association) Awards in London tonight. Well not just London but at Grosvenor House on Park Lane. For those who don't know Park Lane just look at the second last street on the Monopoly Board. There were about 1000 people there from advertising/DM agencies, all sorts of companies the odd model, celebrity and so on. Even a performance by the Tap Dogs. So anyway, World Vision were up for two awards and came away with a Gold in the Fundraising category and a Bronze in the Broadcast category. So it was quite good in all and everyone was really pleased with the result.

Football - Chelsea v Bolton

Went to the football today and saw Chelsea play Bolton at Stamford Bridge(London). As usual it was a corporate gig so we had a 3 course meal before the match and then get ushered out to our magnificent seats. Then its back inside at half time for tea(very English) then back out to watch the second half, then in again at the end for post-match drinks and nibbles. It ended up a 2-2 draw. It's an amazing atmosphere though, a lot more intense that AFL especially when someone scores because there are only 4 goals in a match compared to a lot more than that in AFL.

New House - New Bradwell

Moved house today into a place in New Bradwell which like an older part of Milton Keynes. I'm living with a girl called Sarah who also works at World Vision.

The area around here is quite nice with a Windmill and also a canal that goes over the road.

It was getting a bit dark so didn't get to see too much, it was still a bit fun though. Wandered down to 'The Big Oak' where Robin and his men were rumoured to have met.
