Here's the trip to France finally. For those that don't know, Mum gave Cam and I a week in a house in France for Christmas. She then decided to surprise us(well me, Cam knew) by turning up and coming on the trip with us.
The house we stayed in was in Avranches which is on the north coast of Normandy, France. The area was near Mont Saint Michel which you could see in the distance.
Avranches
This was the square in the centre of town in Avranches
Main street by night:

The Mont by night
Cam looking sofistikaytid
The market. This is where we picked up a live crab for dinner along with some gorgeous apple cider.
And this is the cooking and eating of the crab:
Christian Dior's house... smelt nice. He wasn't home though
Some little town we saw with a church
We went out for dinner in the town one night to a pretty little pizza place:
Omaha Beach memorial, and down on the beach:
Thankfully I took my golf clubs over and got to play golf on Omaha beach. Well not actually on the beach but on a golf course near the beach. They filmed part of Saving Private Ryan here, I think it was the big golf tournament part, or perhaps that was Caddy Shack? There were some stunning views from the green on the 6th. Didn't see any Germans though, luckily. Although I am getting more accurate with my driver.
We headed back via a little town where Erik Satie lived his house was a bit of a museum complete with white grand piano and barbed wire harps.

Hey Jas - looks like a lovely holiday, and great photos as ever.
Thanks for the comment - in response: yes I will love driving around (WHEN I've collected my car from N'Ireland!); Crouch End isn't far from where I am now (Muswell Hill) - it's in the Mus Hill/Highgate/Finsbury Park direction. You and Stephen will def have to come round for dinner when I'm moved in. And my new job is at the Office of the Children's Commissioner - publications/communications officer, think it'll be really good.

hello! Nice photos... It reminds me of the french exchange I went on with school to Avranches when I was about 12/13... I remember we ate lots of crepes and my exchange student was some sort of semi pro tennis player and so was practicing all the time! Mont Sant Michelle (sp?!!)is lovely. You should go to the other one in cornwall if you havent been. Very nice part of the world!
